Wanda Oney Tiffany (October 1, 1941 ~ July 23, 2022)

Wanda Louise Oney Tiffany, 80, of Jacksonville, IL, went to heaven on July 23, 2022. Wanda was born October 1, 1941, in Warrenton, MO. She married David Tiffany on June 7, 1964 in Webster Groves, MO, a date that she proudly displayed on her license plate for many years.

Wanda graduated from MacMurray College in 1963 with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. She started her career as an elementary school teacher. Wanda was given the Distinguished Career Award by MacMurray College's Alumni Association in 2013. She began her teaching career at Washington School in Jacksonville, IL and later at Jefferson School.

Her love of music was expressed in her work as Music Teacher at Pathway School in Jacksonville, her participation in church and community choirs, and helping to organize a choir for the youngest singers at her church. She worked for many years as the curator of the Jacksonville Heritage Cultural Center, predecessor of the Jacksonville Area Museum, organizing numerous heritage fairs in support of the Center's mission.

She was a wonderful wife and mother, always making things so special for her family. Wanda wore many hats during her career, but her main focus was on her family. She loved children, playing the piano, visiting with family and friends, and was so thoughtful in remembering her loved one's anniversaries and birthdays, always sending cards to those she loved.

She was a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church in Jacksonville, and her faith was very important to her. Wanda is survived by her husband of 58 years, David Tiffany; her two sons, Steven Tiffany (Melissa) of Springfield, MO, and Michael Tiffany (Joy) of Jacksonville; and her grandchildren Margaret Mae Tiffany and Charlotte Louise Tiffany. Wanda was preceded in death by her infant sister and her parents, Charles and Ida Mae Oney. She is also survived by a special cousin, Alice Oney Windmann of Foristell, MO.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, August 2, 2022, at First Presbyterian Church in Jacksonville. The family will meet friends one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the First Presbyterian Church of Jacksonville or the Memorial Home Hospice Program in Springfield, IL.
