Dymale - The "Randy" dating years are very long ago, something like 19 years ago. A lot of good things came out of those years. I remember seeing you at Newberg Picnic one year approx 10 years ago??? Those were the days. You probably see my older brother Steve more than I do. Yes, he hasn't changed one bit. Who sends you porn, Steve or Ed? Somehow I think it's Steve.

Lisa: Maybe we could hang a poster/flyer in your store about our class reunion? Just a thought? I'm trying to get more people to join in on the fun.

Keep in touch.

You guys are great! I love the enthusiasm. I am sending out postcards to those who have not signed up on the blog yet- they'll go out monday. there will be a notice posted in the WB Daily News soon as well...i still think the best seems to be word of mouth and the internet...as Chris has so honestly (sadly, for me) spoken, most may know about the event but may be choosing to not come anyway...or to position themselves right out side the door from where we will be. My hope is that people will want to come, want to gab with some they haven't in a long time..party, of course, as well! Chris, you have some work to do...get those people through the door! I want you signed up by week's end and ready to go- I'm dying to see the bald head...and you!

OK, well I have read this forum and know most of the names, but I was in the office most of the time in HS and did not run with your crowd so most do not know me, (I think).
So I would have been appointed the least likely to succeed. Who would have guessed I would end up living back here and being an activist of sorts regarding some of our local issues.
I would like to pose one question to all of you. Please do not take this the wrong way or anything. It is not a slam just a question. If I did know you or hang with you in HS and those that I did know could have cared less why would I go to a reunion to see people again. I am not saying everyone in our class was like that, but uhm... quite a dew.
I was not popular, prep, in the "cool crowd", I could have cared less about wearing the right clothes just so I wouldn't "just die" if my friends saw me. I did play soccer, ran CC 1 year (hated that) but for the most part well I was the polar opposite.
From the looks of this forum, if I remember correctly most of you all hung around together. We were not on each others radar. So walking into a room 20 years later to faces that I don't really know and don't know me from Adam? Really?
OK so that's the question. Again, please don't take offense to this. Just an outsiders perspective to this reunion.
I did have a lot of fun in HS and sure there are some I would love to see again.
By the way whoever put the class pic from Decorah Mrs. King 5th grade up, wow, thanks thanks a lot. Nice goofy and humiliating picture. LOL
Respectfully,
Kristina Smithers
East 89
PS: I am still deciding if I am going to go. I do believe in the art of change and growth. That 20 years later people have changed. I know I have. I do find it interesting to hear all of your stores from HS.
All the care accidents you have all had. Can I just add that going over the tracks on Paradise was not the place for the thrill or air time. My friends and I used to go to the back roads around Ridge Run to the "roller coaster" air there was always guarenteed. Or driving on Paradise towards Cedar Lake Home where the woad really starts to narrow and curve around. Hitting it about 55 and turning the lights out all the way to what is it HWY Z? Don't try it now. We are too old and too wise for that now. Just don't tell you kids...

Kristina,

I remember you, probably from soccer practices. I have wondered about that, too. At the 10th reunion, it felt like people ended up talking to the same people they knew in high school. My mom swears it's different at the 20th and so on after that. I'm actually interested in talking to people that have written very interesting things on this website (I've already emailed some of them, to let them know we've lived similar lives in the past 20 years, etc). Perhaps that will happen more at this reunion than the last one? Who knows.

So, there's your answer from me. BTW, I also had a bad experience somewhere on Hwy Z, involving driving my dad's jeep WAY too fast through a (I swear!) 2 foot deep puddle, thus causing the entire bottom of my car to sound as if it had fallen off. This, too, was at night.

Crazy......

I am loving the talk! I have actually had a completely different take on this message forum...I really don't think a lot of us really "hung out" together in highschool...matter-a-fact...the 4 friends I do still have a relationship with from highschool have barely been on the message forum- ok, Kris Bowers...yes, she did give me a major concussion in HS after plowing into me while I was playing first base in gym...I suppose you could consider that "close". This reunion for me- not dying to see anyone or impress anyone, just would totally, for one night, love to pretend I was living back in those days- no kids, no work, totally thinking I knew what life was all about...I want "Cherry Pie" by Warrant playing in the background. But I do want people to know I have grown- instead of the beer (followed quickly by a swig of soda in my very early drinking days), I have graduated to red wine (which is very good for your heart and I am getting old!) and I will make sure I have a safe ride home (which is a relief to Heidi who will not need to drive with one eye open, one eye shut while I do the same).
I am currently at a conference in WI Dells. Tonight I went to a small italian diner for dinner and was reading the local paper...there was an opinion article from a man about his recent reunion. He had reunited via the internet with a bunch of people who had lived together at one time. He admitted he had missed a reunion or 2 prior. He finished the article by saying, after realizing how easy it would be to never have a chance to see these people again, how he would have regretted it completely.
I hated the idea of having to organize another reunion because I hadn't heard of anyone doing it...a personality flaw I am thinking (I'm glad to know Sadownikow has been inflicted by the same flaw! Maybe it's a neighborhood thing- I'm thinking Mark Hall and Mark Vogeli need to join us!) BUT I am happy to see others enthusiasm...no matter what the reason for those who are coming, I'm glad you are!

and if HS would have taught me anything, I would have known that the word "afflicted" should have been used in my rambling instead of "inflicted". OK, now I am done.

Kris Smithers,

Hey Kiddo-I didn't really hang around any of these folks either. I dated Schramm, knew Bowers from badger along with tons of others. I went from group to group all the time. I was always where the fun was. If someone excluded you from anything, then that's their loss-no?? I too majored in detention, however i released everyone during one year when i stole the box of detention slips and threw 'em out so you probably owe me a beer at least.

you can always leave if you don't feel welcome. But atleast give it a shot. i assume we'll all have name tags. i'm sure most will be in their old groups again, that's what happens. they know eachother. come on already. lets see ya again. i remember ya.

I hear you there chris, my friends and I have the same idea.

Kris Bowers (Theisen)

Paula: I gave you a concussion in high school??????? I don't remember that, but if if did, i'm soo very sorry. Ops....

20 years can really change a person & their whole outlook on life & people. I know that when most people think of high school, they think of groupies & clicks. I remember all of that as well. I had my own group of friends that i hung out with.

Chris is right, if you go and you're not having a good time, you can leave. I would hate for you to look back 10 years from now and kick yourself for not going. You will never know unless you go.

The last 20 years have flew by for me. I love to see how everyone is doing today. This website has brought me in contact with so many people (close or not)in high school. Even if just to chat or say "hi".

Life is too short to think back of negative or bad things that have happened in our lives.

I hope everyone decides to attend. If not for the beer & food, just to see everyone. Hope to see you all there!!!!!

06/23/09 09:33 AM #282

Wendy Fisher (Gonring)

I have to say... I can not wait for the reunion! I love the chatter leading up to it and am looking forward to seeing everyone. It seems that as our kids get older(not us... we'll all be young forever!) we just get busier and make it back to WB less. It is time to set aside our busy lives and have fun together. I'll keep spreading the word as well.

Kristina... I hope you decide to come to the reunion! I have great memories of you going all the way back to Decorah! You were a fabulous soccer player and had great spirit : )

Enjoy this crazy heat today! Summer has finally arrived!

*******Vanessa Pint:

Do you remember who all went with us to the "World Series of Rock" big hair band concert in 89'? I remember going to Alpine Valley with a bunch of girls in your parents van (i think) & the only ones i can think of are (Vanessa Pint, Tina Bahr, Chris Filo). If anyone is reading this, do you remember who all went that year?

I'm having an 80's flash back & can't remember names of people i was with for that road trip????

06/23/09 11:03 PM #284

Lisa Schramm (Rosbeck)

I just remember you "falling asleep" in the middle of the Bon Jovi concert at Alpine ... I wonder if we have pictures of that somewhere ... ahhh, good times!

And I just have to add that I too am looking forward to the reunion ... will be great to see all the names and faces popping up on the website. 20 years is a long time, I think we all deserve a night out.

06/23/09 11:13 PM #285

Vanessa Pint (Magray)

Kris,

I think, no I do still have the pictures that we took that day. Denise Wiedemeyer, Julie Heinrich, Traci Perkins, Chris Filo, Cyndi Frankie, Val Schmidt and Sandi Conwell. Fun times!

06/24/09 01:31 PM #286

Jon Hornung

Hey everyone. I recognize a lot of names on here that I had forgotten about. No offense to anyone; but 20 years have produced many adventures! Hopefully more than a handful of people remember who I am. I am looking forward to seeing all of you again. See you then.

06/24/09 09:38 PM #287

Kris Bowers (Theisen)

Too funny -

I know i have tons of pictures somewhere downstairs. I'll have to dig for them & see what i can post out here. I carried a camera everywhere I went in high school & middle school.

I have fallen asleep (dead asleep) at two concerts now. A Motley Crue concert at the Bradley Center & the Bon Jovi concert. I'm terrible. I never was a night person. I'm more of a morning person.

Denise W - do you remember when Sandy threw up in the back of your parents van in a baggie to try to hide it from everyone?

Vanessa: Do you remember when we went out to dinner at TGIF's & we met the lead singer of Boston? I think i still have that napkin with his signature.

I remember going to the Monsters of rock at alpine. Jody schneider threw up in line after drinking about a case of beer by 10 am. the line moved about 100yds away. when the cops came over and asked him if he was drunk he threw up on their shoes and pants. then said no he had the flu.

If anybody remembers, I found Deanna Klesynczski. She remembers a lot of you folks from Decorah elementary. She left west bend between 7th and 8th grade but she wants to come to our reunion. she talks about bowers, tracey spaeth, jenny scremo, jenny gloege and a bunch of you girls.
does anybody care if she comes? I talked to her for about an hour on the phone the other day.
She is in a wheel chair because of a drunk driving accident. but one thing never changed. she talked so fast that i only caught a few words here and there.

it was almost like learning a new language and you're just picking out a few words here and there trying to make sense of it.

anyways, should we invite her? I think she wants to come and probably will show up anyways, but inviting her may be nicer of us. who does the inviting?

As President of the Class of 1989 professional beer drinking committee, i say we invite her.
anybody oppose this?

06/26/09 10:27 PM #289

I remember Deanna K. She lived on Eder and was friends with Michelle M. Deanna had an older brother Steve I think his name was.

I do remember the guy from BOSTON. Again another most memorable night. It's a story that I have blessed many of my co-workers with. I will take the time now and say how bummed I am that MJ died! Michelle Filo and I were in love with him. He was a true icon. Todd Manderfield, did you have fun at Summerfest? We saw Loverboy, talk about a fun time. If anyone has the opportunity to see them in concert they should.

06/29/09 10:23 PM #291

Todd Manderfield

Vanessa - It was good to see you (sorry I didn't recognize you at first). Goes to show it has been a long time. We did have a good time @ Summerfest. We had come from the Brewer game, so we had been partying since noon.

Seems I have lots of reading to catch up on with this forum. Let me just say, I can't wait to see everyone! Even if we did or didn't hang out or we were or weren't in the "cool" group, whichever group you think that was, we all have a connection. I have few real memories of high school, other than being seriously bullied by a group of junior and senior girls as a freshman and sophomore and making a few poor choices, but I'm with you, Paula. The thought of being young and free of responsibility(theoretically)for just one night is really appealing. 80's night..wooo-hooooo! We must do a mini musical tribute to MJ!!
We still seem to be missing lots of folks. Anybody know what happened to Eric Hawkinson or Scott Bruene? I remember Eric getting really ticked off at me at one point, but for the life of me, I can't remember what the heck I did. Funny how bad my memory is but certain things suddenly sneak in there.
