Glad I could give you a giggle Jeff!!! I'll NEVER forget that and really, what were they thinking? That escapade lead us to a bus trip to Halstead to visit the reproductive area of the health clinic!!! LMAO
Mrs. Shellhammer - I remember her as being mean but never had her for a teacher. Remember Miss Meister from the 1st grade? I didn't have her either but don't have fond memories.

Lari Floyd (Prilliman)

Russell,
My sister had Ms. Bird for her 4th grade teacher. I had the same teacher for 3rd and 4th grade. I can't remember her name - I think it began with an O. She was tall and thin. I didn't really think anyone should have to have the same teacher two years in a row. And I never got to have the cool teachers, aka Ms. Knolla.

Carrie--I think he means that the class of 79 needs a representative at the meeting at Curt Wheeler's office.

Yep that's what he meant, but not necessary. However, there is nothing like a nice relaxing massage chair and a bottle of beer. Mike Edwards try to make it if you can.

Lari Floyd (Prilliman)

Jackie,

I sent you an email. Look for it!

Jeff Buss

Sure do Jackie, It was a great block! Remember that game we made up called man hunt where we divided up into teams and went hunting for each other hiding anywhere on our block. When you found someone on the opposing team and hit them with a rolled up newspaper they were captured. I, as the little one can remember even being tortured once after capture. lol. Funny now but boy it hurt then. They tied me to a piece of chain link fence on the ground and walked on my chest then rolled me over and played checkers on my back. lol

Oh Jackie, how about that time when we had that huge amount of snow and all the kids on the block had that snowball fight with those elaborate forts. I think it was 1972. Remember when Buster Prone and his team made that fort between the houses where snow had drifted. They packed it down and dug tunnels in it. When we were walking on it looking for them a tunnel collapsed and we had to dig Buster out. Holy Cow!
His parents still live there.

Jacklyn Brown (Strickland)

Jeff, I do remember that year it snowed. Didn't we challenge Hiram to a fight and cream them? I do remember having to dig Buster out. I'm not sure why we bothered. He was so mean all the time. I remember he would always pick on me because I was the only girl on the block who would play with you guys. He probably seceretly liked me and that was the only way to show it lol. I guess playing outside with all you guys toughen me up though for high school basketball and softball.

Do you remember suicide corner? We would go over to Bennett and 29th on our bikes after it rained and do power slides and try not to wipe out.

We used to go to Tiny Tot Park on Hiram on the way to Rea Woodman and ride our bikes down that "huge" hill. Man as a little girl that was scarry.

Does anybody remember having Randy Randolphs dad as a teacher at Rea Woodman. Or what about Mr Maloney? What was up with all his demerrits and detensions. I felt like I was in prison or the army or something.

I remember having to act out a fairy tale in Mrs. Garl's class and my group did Princess and the Pea. Of course I had to be the Prince because our group was all girls (Kelly Bolin, Trina Schultz Michelle Gleason and myself) We had some risers that we used for a stage and when Michelle who played the princess went to lay down on the matresses the bed slid off the "stage" and Michelle went right along with it lol. She was so embarassed and mad at me because she thought I had done it on purpose.

Does anybody remember the Titan foleys we did during Homecoming week? I remember Darryl Ott doing the streak. I thought I was going to die I laughed so hard.

carrie yes class of 78 meeting is friday please come getting close

06/07/09 11:18 AM #75

Lari Floyd (Prilliman)

Jackie,

I think it was Barry Conyers who did the streak rather than Darryl Ott. That was the year we were juniors because Scott Marshall was directing the floor show that year. After he left, we didn't get to do it anymore!

Hey Jackie
I remember Mr. Randolph as a teacher in 6th grade! I used to think he was so strict and would barely utter a word in his class. I think his class was the last time I really understood math!! When I became friends with Randy I found out what a sweetheart his dad was although I never got over being intimidated by him! You guys have such great memories...I'm not sure if I could tell ya who was in my 6th grade class without seeing a yearbook from Rea Woodman. I DO remember Janna Parker and I were in 2nd grade together and Mike Edwards and I go back as far as kindegarten but after that..whew!! Too many kids and too many years :-)

06/08/09 12:40 PM #77

Joni Scheuman (Fajardo)

Hey Jackie, I use to play too, ask Jeff...he remembers. Maybe I was too short and you always looked over me :) I also remember always playing ball in your backyard and hoping we wouldn't get into trouble from Dorothy or Hugh when it went over the fence and we had to go and get it.

06/09/09 08:54 AM #78

Jacklyn Brown (Strickland)

Yes Joni,
I remember you playing but you and Linda didn't usually want to play with the older kids.

I wasn't so afraid of Hugh but Dorothy could get testy. I think they were mad when we didn't include Chris.

Remember when I broke my arm playing wiffle ball? I didn't think we would be able to play anymore so I didn't want to tell mom. But it was pretty bad and I finally had to go have it set. It was right before we were going to play softball in PE and I was bumbed because I didn't think I was going to be able to play. I think I had to sit out a week but I batted and threw the ball left handed and was probobly pretty bad.
