Beverly Rayhdell (Bolen) Exley,76, went to meet her Lord and Savior and her lifetime soulmate on May 2, 2021. Beverly was born October 9, 1944 to Roy and Lillie Bolen in Wichita Kansas. She was the youngest of 9 children. She was raised on her beloved farm on Arkansas St called Heller’s Grove. This is where her compassion and hospitality developed as she helped to care for and feed the farm hands.

 

She was educated her whole life in Wichita Schools. She was a social butterfly and established lifelong friends. She even met her soulmate, Bill, whom she later married. She graduated from North High School and was a proud “Redskin”. She was known to drive out of her way to take the kids and grandkids by her school so she could reminisce. She received her Associates Degree in Business Administration from WSU.

 

She married the love of her life, William (Bill) Lambert Exley on November 16, 1963. From this union, 3 beautiful children were born: Todd, Marc, and Ginger. Bill and Bev proudly raised them in the city they so loved. She worked for Sedgwick County for many years, first in the Tag Office and then the Election Office. She worked her way up from a Secretary to the Chief Deputy Election Commissioner. She retired from Sedgwick County in 2003. Beverly met the best of friends there and continued meeting them for luncheons and girl talk long after retiring.

 

Beverly was a member of Zaik Church (First Assembly of God). Her and Bill served the church and saw it through many transitions and growth. Even when she could not attend, she joined online ad remained a faithful prayer warrior. Many people called on her for prayer because they knew her prayers held a special place in the heart of God.

 

Beverly’s hobbies included Music (Gaither Vocal Band in particular), Traveling with her sweetheart and friends, and spending as much time as possible with her family. She loved having company over and she engaged in conversation. She loved to talk but more importantly she listened. She asked many questions to know every detail of what someone was saying. She made everyone feel heard, special, and loved.

 

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, all her siblings, and her husband. Her survivors include sons Todd (Angie) Exley of Udall, Ks; Marc (Lisa) Exley of Wichita,Ks; and daughter: Ginger (Casey) Eaton of El Dorado, Ks. Her Grandchildren: Ethan (Kaile) Exley, Krystin Exley, Jessica Exley, Jacob Exley, Jennifer Exley, Jadyn Exley, Rebekah (Joshua) Shopp, Faith Exley, Brittany Exley, Morgan Exley, Breanna Exley, and Trinity Exley, and Her Great-Grandchildren: William Exley and Layahh Shopp. Services will be held Thursday, May 6th at 1:30pm at Zaik Church on 888 S. Webb Rd Wichita Ks. In Lieu of flowers a memorial has been established with Zaik Church. Share condolences at www.cozine.com. Services by Cozine Memorial Group-Broadway Mortuary.
