In Memory

F. Ted Field

FIELD, FREDERICK THEODORE "TED" Passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Sunday, January 14, 2024, after a long fight with cancer at the age of 79. Ted was born in Wichita to Dorothy and Frederick. After losing his father when he was in grade 10, he attended Harvard, served in the US Army in Korea, and travelled. He met Karen Leah (née Norris) while skiing in Quebec. After completing his MBA at Wharton, Ted and Karen were married in Etobicoke and moved to California, before returning to Etobicoke where they lived with their sons, Anthony, Michael, and Nicholas. Karen predeceased Ted by less than a year, after celebrating 50 years of marriage. Ted worked as a real estate finance specialist, and for him, family was everything. A man of principles, he selflessly supported his family and their interests. He was intelligent, caring, polite, and hyper-organized. Ted remained in close contact with his sister, Mary June, and friends from high school and university. Ted is survived by sons, Tony (Karin), Mike (Maya), and Nick (Evelyne); and 5 grandchildren, Vanessa, Quentin, Clarice (Tony and Karin), and Elliana, and Alice (Nick and Evelyne). A memorial gathering will be held at Turner & Porter Butler Chapel, 4933 Dundas St. W., Etobicoke (between Kipling and Islington Aves.), Monday, January 22, 2024 from 2 p.m. until Celebration of Life in the Chapel at 3 p.m. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Dorothy Ley Hospice or to Prostate Cancer Research. Online condolences can be made at www.turnerporter.ca

Rest in peace Ted Field. I'm just learning, through this website, that you have said goodby to your earthly life. You were such an important part of our class of '62.  Your smile, your constant good will, your scholarship, your leadership, and your many many friendships are lasting feel-good memories.
