Obituary for Lavon Jeanette Braun

Lavon Jeanette Braun passed from this life on August 10, 2022, in Mangum. She was born on March 16, 1944, in Wichita, Kansas to Floyd Heflin and Ruth (Koestermann) Heflin. She grew up in Wichita, Kansas attending and graduating from North High School. After graduation she attended Altus Junior College receiving an associate degree in Criminal Psychology. Lavon worked for several years as secretary at North High School in Wichita, then in 1984 they made a move to Willow where they opened a grocery store. She then began working at Oklahoma Correctional facility in Granite retiring after 20 years of service.
Lavon loved to take pictures, travel to Branson and see the many shows. She was a Mary Kay Representative and a good one but most of all she loved to spend time with her grandchildren, whom she took on many trips with.
She is survived by her two sons, Todd Bell of Mangum and Jeff Bell of Willow. Her beloved grandchildren, Larissa Parker and husband Cody of Weatherford, Mollie Bell also of Weatherford and Toby Devoy and wife Amber of Yukon, great-grandchildren, Victoria Devoy of Yukon and Cambree Parker of Weatherford, numerous cousins and a host of other relatives and friends.
Lavon was preceded in death by her parents Floyd and Ruth Heflin, husbands Stacy Bell and Wayne Braun and sister Lois Chamber.
Services for Lavon are scheduled for Tuesday, August 16, 2022, 10:00 A.M., at Peoples Cooperative Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Kris Ramber officiating. Public viewing will begin Monday, August 15, 2022, at 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. also at Peoples Cooperative Funeral Home.
Following Lavon’s wishes a cremation will follow services.
