Diane Marie Hudson died October 27, 2012, at her home in Decatur. She was born November 15, 1944, in Wichita, Kan., to Henry Schimp and Marie McConnell Schimp. She worked for the Kansas Drivers License Division, Beechcraft, Decatur Parks and Recreation and for the last 15 years before retiring, BP Amoco.
She was a master bridge player and enjoyed bridge, gardening, reading and raising Shih Tzu's. She was a past member of Pilot Club International, Business and Professional Women and Decatur Newcomers, as well as a member of Power Players Investment Club, Hickory Hills Neighborhood Association and several bridge groups.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Charles Schimp and her husband, Wayne Hudson. She is survived by her sons, David Lee Pendergraft of Wichita, Kan., and Mark Squire Pendergraft of Phoenix, Ariz.; and two grandchildren, Tyler Miles (Kaleena) Pendergraft of Wichita, Kan., and Allison Marie Pendergraft of Manhattan, Kan.
Visitation will be Thursday from 4 to 6 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home, Decatur, with a memorial service at 6 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Decatur Animal Shelter or the Decatur Public Library.
