Cleve Claire Werner, Jr

Cleve C. Werner, Jr., 61, of Grand Island, died Wednesday, June 22, 2005 at St. Francis Medical Center. Services will be on Saturday, June 25, 2005 at

10 a.m. at the Kleine Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Vernon Werner officiating.

Burial will be in the Grand Island City Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday from 2 - 4 pm at the Funeral Home.

Cleve was born Nov. 11, 1943 in Wichita, KS, the son of Cleve C., Sr. and Ruth (Martin) Werner and received his education in Wichita. He was united in marriage to Donna Vanderpool on Oct. 13, 1987 in Nashville, TN. Later they moved to Grand Island where they made their home. During his life he was a truck driver for Grand Island Express.

Cleve was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church.

Cleve is survived by his wife, Donna of Grand Island, one brother: Pastor Vernon (and wife Linda) Werner of Grand Island, one sister: Ina Nickelson of Montana, two sons: Cleve C. Werner, III and Robert J. Werner both of Wichita, KS, two nieces: Tammy (Mrs. John) Elrod and Shelly (Mrs. Justin) Saylor, both of Grand Island, and one nephew: Bill Werner of Hannibal, MO.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a half-brother: CW “Junior” Spoon, and one nephew: Tim.
