I am glad that no one got hurt during the shooting at South. God things have changed so much since we graduated.

Yeah Pete, I agree. Things sure have changed since we were in school. I would have never had a clue that someone would bring a gun to school in our day. I agree, Thank God, that no one got hurt. Best wishes to the rest of the graduating classes. Good Luck!

Thank you so much to all of you who thought of me September 2nd, at South High. That day my life certainly changed as a teacher. I went from sad, to mad all day long. Sad, since teaching is truly my calling, and I never thought I'd be putting my life on the line for a career that I absolutely love. Mad, because I take pride in OUR school, and how dare this young man ruin our reputation. I am fortunate to have never had this student in class, since I do make myself very approachable for many troubled teens. Maybe if I had, I would have noticed his depression, and/or obsession with guns. Who knows?! It is reassuring to recall the unity that occured not only in the school, but the community as a whole.
On a positive note, please save the date, May 1, 2009. I am chairing the events committee for our 50th year anniversary! On this date, we are having a fund raiser/ monte carlo night. I thought it would be a blast to have a few tables designated just for the class of 1988. Especially since the reunion was a hoot, and is over!!! This party is at the Patrician. There will be more info. on the school website, and I will try to post specific dates here too. ALSO, I am planning on doing a float for the parade that fall,2009-2010. Currently I have my husband looking at his gas station for an old car, or something!!! Isn't that what husbands are for?! Let me know if you are interested in either driving the float, or riding in the back with me!!! Maybe someone could even dress as the rebel guy!!! My creativity is endless!!! Sincerely, Tracy Polzer (Giles)

Tracy you are one heck of a teacher and dont for once beat yourself up about it, I feel that way too when I see a kid by the way side and I think 'if i only would have spent one more min. with him he would be ok.' its a teachers job to protect them and we feel bad when we cant. you rock girl!!!!!
I would love to come the event just tell me when an where and I will be there. I will make joe greer and rodney come with me!!! lol

Sometimes, I think it is because of what kids/teens are exposed to these days. I wonder if they are not desensitized to the consequences of their actions. I do not think that the media helps much either. The more attention that is brought to incidents like this the more someone wants to "Copy" the individual or individuals they heard or saw on the news.

Still, I wonder about this generation, when we were that age we all had our fair share of bieng picked or picking on others. Yet, the worst we ever heard about was a couple of us beating the snot out of each other and that was it.

Now, kids bring weapons into the schools and settle up that way.

I know that I check with my boys constantly to see how things are going for them in school both academically and I guess personally.

Could any of you that are in the finance field explain to me the mess we are in and will we get out of it. Not poking fingers just curious for a plain english point of view. Father in Law who's 97 says depression coming is he right if this bail out does not work?

Answer
Sounds like "So Alive" by Love & Rockets. Here are the lyrics, hope this helps!

So Alive - Love and Rockets
I don't know what color your eyes are, baby,
But your hair is long and brown.
Your legs are strong, and you're so, so long.
And you don't come from this town.

My head is full of magic, baby,
And I can't share this with you.
The feel I'm on a cross again, lately,
But there's nothing to do with you.

I'm alive, so alive.
I'm alive, so alive.

Your strut makes me crazy,
makes me see you more clearly.
Oh, baby, now I can see you.
Wish I could stop,
Switch off the clock,
Make it all happen for you.

I'm alive, so alive.
I'm alive, so alive.

I don't know what color your eyes are, baby,
But your hair is long and brown.
Your legs are strong, and you're so, so long.
And you don't come from this town.

My head is full of magic, baby,
And I can't share this with you.
The feel I'm on top again, baby,
That's got everything to do with you.

I'm alive, so alive.
I'm alive, so alive.

I have heard from some of you reguarding my facebook album so here is the story... This past Tuesday Joe Greer's son was in a car accident, he and his girlfriend swerved to miss a deer and ended up swerving agian to miss a oncoming car. they are both doing just fine with minimal stiches and bumps and ouchies. They are home resting and feeling much better and the Dr. says exrays are all ok. Thank you all for your prayers and well wishes.
