After high school I went to Virginia Intermont College and graduated in 1992 with a BA in Horsemanship. At the end of my junior year there, I met Ted Pehowic and married him August 8, 1992. We tried for 9 years to conceive, and in Dec. of 2000 with our last round of infertility treatment which wasn't expected to be successful I became pregnant with quadruplets. After 5 weeks in the hospital (at 28 weeks' gestation), I delivered on June 16, 2001 by emergency C-section due to acute, severe preeclampsia. All four babies spent between 7-15 weeks in the Neonatal ICU, but are all healthy 7-year-olds today. Ted, however, did not handle becoming a father well and turned his frustration and anger on me. After two years of trying to help him change, I finally decided it was more important that I protect myself and my children, and I left him in February of 2004. The kids, who were then 2½ years old, and I moved up here to DE and moved in with my parents. I began taking classes at Del. Tech. in June of 2004, entered the Univ. of DE's accelerated bachelors in nursing program in August of 2006, and graduated cum laude February 8, 2008, with a BSN. From 3/10/08 to 10/1/11 I worked as a maternal-infant nurse at Union Hospital in Elkton, MD. On 10/10/11 I start my new job as a Neonatal ICU nurse at A.I. duPont Hospital for Children. The kids are in 4th grade this year and are LOVING it! We live in a townhouse apartment in Pike Creek. Life is very busy, but it's finally good for us!
