Bio:
After completing college I went to work for a small consulting firm in Evanston; highway and traffic engineering for public sector clients. The company went through two acquisitions;I am now Chief Highway Engineer for CH2M HILL, largest employee owned engineering firm in the US; Fortune 500 company. Have led many significant design and research projects (e.g., for those who have been to Milwaukee recently, I led the design of the Marquette Interchange and freeway system around the downtown; developed the plan for the Des Moines freeway system reconstruction; North Central Expressway in Dallas, and over 300 interchanges around the country; having worked for over 30 state Departments of Transportation and three foreign governments). I have also done major research for the Federal Highway Administration and state DOTs through the National Academies and have published numerous articles, papers, etc. and spoken around the country on transportation issues. Within our industry I am nationally recognized as a highway design and traffic safety expert.
After going to school in Michigan I returned to the Chicago area, met my wife and have raised our family of four in Glenview. My daughter is now a special education school teacher in Bellingham, WA; my oldest son is nearing graduation from Indiana University and I have two more to put through school.
