Rich...my husband has a friend Steve Pearson and I inadvertantly wrote 'Steve'...when I meant to write Rich!

:0

Old Ludlow...was actually across from your house...on Bauer and Ludlow...did you know that?
Now there's a new house on that lot.

Do you remember sneaking through Karen Favreau's yard to get to Healy Road?

Or going to Killoran's to swing on their swings...

Mrs. Spence still lives on Ludlow...but you may not remember her.

Honestly, I, too, recall the pink shirt, the Steve Martin impersonations ("I'm a wild...and crazy...guy!") and how Melissa Hyland and Linda Mitchell both fought over who actually was "going out" with you. I think I remember you actually owning the large pencil headband that looked like it went through you head...
How 'bout kickball games on "the boys' side" of New Ludlow. Can you believe we didn't become liberated from the BOYS SIDE, GIRLS SIDE way of thinking...til 1975?

I remember walking home as "Patrol Leader" and yelling, "Line's Broooooooke" then everyone booked home...all the way down Bauer. How we never fell flat on our faces, I'll never know. I had to run home before Mike Sullivan gave me a flat tire...I think he had a crush on me!!! Oh yeah, forget it...he went out with Tracy Perkins.

I think you liked Debbie Habib.

Mike, so you remember taking my Halloween hat (I went as a devil with horns on my head) and throwing it into the trees on Farmington? I threatened you with "I'm gonna tell my mom..." and you climbed up to get it...hehehehe! ...note, the "Mom" thing always works!

Karen Ullstrom, I better not have missed the Helen Reddy (sp?) tryouts. I just about have all of the moves down...let's see...come out behind the living room drapes, pause...then start with the words, "You're my world, you're every breath I take..."
Whatever happened to your dad's 8 track...of Neil Sadaka? Maybe they're somewhere on a table at the Hubbardston Flea Market.

And, what about the Holly Hobbie doll collection that you owned...the ones that were LIFE SIZE! Holly, Amy, Heather...

Karen, what about when we pitched rocks in the air one saturday, not knowing that we were hitting people's windshields? Your dad's actually broke...and no one knew why...I think my grandmother actually found out though.

So here's to greasy pizza, thick malts and getting together soon!

Happy Saint Paddys Day everyone. Better late than never.

Thanks for bringing up all the names of all the places. Before being called a rez rat by those not from the neighborhood (still can't spell) I hung at Sols. All the boys were there, Web, Beast, Pidge, Gilly, Mica, Ogara, and of course Jim and Joe Moynaugh. Remember Sud, those were the days. You forgot Tessiers pond and Paris Ave.
I will always remember cleaning the cellars and garages in the area for the Bon fire at the courts. Tiger White was the fire fighter to control the whole thing. Engine Five would be ther at light off, let it burn a few hours and then put it out.
Also do any of you guys remember Mr. Devincent, the so called guidance councilor? He would pull me out of class and ask if I shit today and then if I wiped. If the answer was yes he said good job and sent me back to class. I would love to have those days again, not to change them but to enjoy them just as I did the first time. Think of your favorites and tell them at the reunion, I so look forward to being a kid again, if only for a few days......Who am I kidding, I never have and never will grow up. See you all soon.
Joe

I almost forgot, do you guys remember when me and Ted George and quite a few others broke into the Opra House on Grandview Ave and stole a bunch of spray paint and Ted wrote on the side of Gates Lane...."Free blowjobs on the 2nd floor ask for George" (Stewart) and drew an arrow to his window. The best part was he did it in broad daylight with all of the plaza watching, including two teachers.

Kim Tisdell (Floser)

Yup I do remember that Joe. I also remember the time a bunch of us slept at the res. Yes, I was the one running around with the whistle. Walking home a bunch of us all looking an feeling like death. We cut through the back of Friendly's and there were a million receipts all over the ground near the dumpster (silly kids throwing them around all over the place) was that you Eric? and Mr. Blanchard said if we picked them all up, breakfast was on him. What did we do?

Happy Birthday to the March babies?

Michael Sullivan

LOL Can you imagine what we would do to our kids if we cought them doing half the stuff we did!! Dear God Amy!! How do you remember the names from New Ludlow! I do remember kick ball! The plays with Mr Sullivan as director! Mike O'Gara or Dave Dumas always had the lead! Do you remember when the kid puked down Dave LeBouf's back and Mr Sullivan made him go home and change his shirt then come back to school!! How about at Gates Lane with Tim Coonan telling Quog he forgot his homework at home and Quog made him walk all the way home to get it and when Tim got back to school he told him he lied and never actually did it!!! I thought I was going to whitness my first murder! And Rich! Do you remember the time we pegged the kids that hung out at Friendlys with the snowballs and they chased us around the nieghborhood! I ran into my house and one of the kids ran in after me and dragged me out in front of my Mother! The pain was well worth the memory!

Mike,
It was Kevin Parent who puked on David LeBeouff during practice for the Charlie Brown play with Miss Vosberg!
ewwwwwwarchhhhh!

Joe,
Do you remember 7th grade recesses... holding hands with Donna Maria Giorgio...by the fence? You two, and Holly and Brian?

03/21/09 02:05 AM #152

Joe Wrixon

oh yes Amy I remember. The thing is I have not seen her in a long time and Bri and Holly are married.

Joe Wrixon

Mike I was in Mr. Edddy's room when that happened. Quog pushed him down the stairs and he didn't stop falling until he hit the floor in front of Mr. Lelands room.

Michael Sullivan

I can still remember standing in the hall between his room and Mr. stewarts room, praying he was in a good mood! Then you would hear the screaming start.....You'd break out in a cold sweat and just keep your fingers crossed that someone else forgot there homework so he wouldn't spend as much time looking at yours! If I ever come down with a heart issue, I'm sure you could link it directly to seventh and eighth grade math class!

Kimmee!!! I was there when we got free breakfast for picking up all of those receipts!!! Joey (you'll always be Joey Wrixon to me) I think I fixed you up with all of my friends (Jayne, Chrissy, etc.). Amy/Karen I am so in on this American Idol over 40. Why do think think I got Karaoke for the reunion?!!!! Didn't you boys get caught about that blow job thing!!!!???? That was hilarious!!! I remember smoking my first and last cigarette on that mound at Bennett Field! I think we were all in fifth grade. I also remember getting Whatchamacallits from that convienence store next to Gates Lane. Remember the Lyman Street Bus People. So many memories!!!!!!

03/25/09 10:40 PM #156

Eric Solomon (Salomonsson)

Ah yes! Who can forget Saul's Drugstore--they had a cool wooden phone booth in the back of the store. I used to buy ALL my comics there. I usually stopped on the way home from CCD on Saturdays. Dan MacInnes and I also bought our share of Wacky Packages, baseball cards, Star War cards, and whatever else we could get for $1.00 or so. Also add Sparkey's Pizza to the mix! I used to love it when Gates Lane had "Pizza Day." I think it was something like 40 cents a slice! I believe Mr. Donovan owned Sparkey's and it was pretty good pizza. It was on the corner of Gates Lane and Main Street. Across Main Street was Arthur Treacher's Fish and Chips.
Some of the funniest memories I have is taking the bus over to Columbus Park School for Industrial Arts. Along the way, we always were able to get the bus driver to let us hang out for awhile before getting to the school. On one occasion, John Devereaux found a dead squirrel and started swinging it around by the tail at everyone!
Then there was the time that Tim Coonan decided to try and drill through a magic marker with the drill press--ink all over the place!! Oh yeah--it was also great watching Dan M not get an "A" at something--he HATED Industrial Arts!! I'm such an evil friend.... ;-)

Wow!! Good times!!! I remember the new ludlow kids came in 7th grade. I was so in love with Michael Walsh!!

This is really weird but Jane is now dating a guy I introduced to her from my neighborhood. I used to see her alot as she is friends with a teacher I hang around with in my neighborhood. They are now living together in Worcester. She lives off of June Street/Mill Street.

03/26/09 05:31 PM #159

Amy Favreault (Benoit)

HA! I forgot about Arthur Treacher's 'til you mentioned it Eric...that and Sparky's pizza...funny!
What about BIG BOYS (who stole the statue?) and Gino's Burger place...the first fast food restaurant in Webster Square.

I never did partake in the infamous sleep "out" at the rez...Lorraine and Charlie would have found out anyway. That's how they still are today...those parents don't miss a trick. Plus, when you actually have your dad as your teacher, it kinda puts a damper on any mischievous plans you may be plotting.

Of the few times I spent at the rez...my first time ever...my foot got caught in a rotten log when I was running away from the police and (thank God!) John Maloney came back, freed my leg and ran off with me in the forest...When I got home, sick from Jack Daniels and worry...my sisters threatened to tell and I never returned to the rez again.

OK wheres Rich Wilson and Kevin Parent when you need them!! I remember finding an open door in the gym late one night and the three of us trying to play basketball in the pitch dark. Never really gave much thought to the fact that thats called BREAKING AND ENTERING...oops

03/27/09 12:32 PM #161

Betsy Millett (West)

Where are they (RW and KP)? Have you guys found any lost classmates? Tell them about all of the fun they're missing!! Michael and Richard need to find all of the New Ludlow grads.....you too, Amy!!!

03/27/09 09:58 PM #162

John Maloney

Amy, I spent hours setting up that log just to catch a young girl in it . Then I came in and saved the day, running off with you in my arms. Who said chivilry is dead.

awwwwwww...I'm blushing!
Makes me think of Shrek!
:)

Richard Pearson

Amy, I hope it wasn't Shrek Super Slam, I worked on that game. I can't believe all that I'm hearing, we could go on forever. How about the "Fort". We took all the wood from the developments and built the fort by the pond on wildwood, I think Mike Walsh actually got his engineering degree from building that fort. How are the folks and the family Mr. Walsh? I can remember hanging at your house listening to the Doors and the Who for the first time and we were all ready to become the "Warriors" or something like that. I know it was fun sneaking into E.M Loews all those times for all those concerts. How any of you let your kids go to concerts now?

It's hard to believe my daughter was working at the Hollywood Bowl last summer as an usher. I wonder if she would let her Dad hop the fence or turn me in...

Sully when we weren't hiding, we were breaking, taking and returning things... Who took the money from my paper route, was it Vail, Walsh or Sully... How about the night we hit the Frito Lays truck and everyone had Doritos for a month...

I had a crush on everyone back then, that's what happens when you’re the new kid in school. Plus you get beat up a lot... I think I was on the "kick his ass list" for everyone, at least it felt like it... Was it the Steve Martin impressions...?

See you all soon in June...

If they are from Ludlow Street they are not in California... Only me and Walsh are here on the West Coast... as far as I know only 2 Ludlow kids are allowed in California at any given time... lol

Mike(Walsh)send me a line. If you're ever down in Southern California visiting we should catch up...

RichardPearson@roadrunner.com

That goes for anyone else who may be in the area.
I'm north of UCLA campus in Los Angeles if you're ever in town look me up, I'm listed.

I've been to Califoria Rich! Does that count? Heres another South story.... Does anyone remember our sr year when we had a rash of fire alarms going off? It was like, a couple thousand a day... and one of the three big shots(can't remember who) came on the loud speaker and went nuts, he was gonna have whoever it was arrested and expelled, maybe even shot! He just kept going on and on about how disrespectfull it was and what evil people they were, and the split second he turns off the loud speaker, BAM someone pulls the fire alarm....Civil disobedience!! Gotta love it!
