It's funny. Fellow students always thought I was a foreign exchange student from Brazil. Actually that is true. As an American, was living in Brazil from 1976 to 1978 and attending the American School of Brasilia when I was asked if I wanted to go finish my senior year in Yakima as an exchange student. They couldn't find any Brazilians who wanted to go to Yakima, so I said yes. I had climbed Mt. Ranier in 1977, and was an avid skier, so of course I yes. I made great friends at IKE High, although I was very shy and a little awkward. I was the only male flute player in the band, was in choir, track and field....oh, and lets not forget the trip to Hawaii!!!!
