Okay, Okay, quit bugging me, very briefly.... I married the boy next door. Rick moved into the house next to where my sister & I shared a duplex. It turns out he grew up in the same neighborhood as I did when I went to elementary school. We did the same things, swimming at Lions Pool in the summer, going to DQ after but we don't think we ever met. He went to a different elementary school. Then I moved into Wilson/Ike area, he stayed at Franklin/Davis. It must of been fate that brought him back to Yak and in the house next door?!? We have been married 19+ years.
His job has moved us to Vancouver, WA, Battleground, WA and to where we live now in Harrisburg, OR. Our home is about 20 miles north of Eugene where I work as an office manager for an oral surgeon. I have been there for 12+ years. Rick has been an instrument tech at the local pulp mill for 14 years if you don't count the brief stint in Alaska last year.
We have one son Brett that is 15 1/2. (We couldn't have anymore children). Brett is a great kid. He attends the local HS of about 350 total students in all 4 grades. Most of the kids have gone to school together since Kindergarten. We like this small farm town.
We are looking forward to hosting an exchange student from Switerland when we return after the reunion. I don't know if I am ready for 2 teenage boys.
We get to Yakivegas a few times a year, both our families still live in the area. I miss the hot dry summers and snow in the winter! See you soon!

School Story:

One of the best memories I have is when some close friends became vandals. I won't name names but... spray painting the irrigation canal (OVER some street by 40th off of Power House) with "IKE 79", hanging one person over the edge by her feet, while her father put his headlights on it from the street below. That was a slumber party! Then using a new product (that the same father had just gotten) now known as Round-up I believe to put "Ike 79" on the front lawn of the school. We did it during a huge track meet. It was fun watching the grass slowly die over the next couple weeks.
