I have been married to my wonderful husband, John Makins (Ike class of 82') for 17 years. When I married John he came with a wonderful son, Ian who is now 19 years old. John and I have a wonderful daughter, Jordan.
John has been a transportation broker for 16 years and has recently started his own brokerage business. I have recently earned a college degree in education (better late then never) and am in the process of starting on my masters degree in educational math science. John and I are very blessed by our children. Ian is in his first year of college and Jordan attends Riverside Christian School. Jordan is an avid swimmer and spends her summers in Naches on the swim team.
We love having friends and family over for last minute get togethers. John and I both enjoy cooking and find it is even more enjoyable when we gather around the table with friends and family.
We have recently enjoyed taking up a new hobby, wine! Well the wine isn't here yet but it is on the way. My family and my sister's family took the first steps last year and planted red wine grapes creating our first vineyard. We are all very excited and look forward to our first tasting.
While John and I would like nothing more then to attend this reunion my niece is getting married that weekend and we are have the rehearsal dinner at our home. Her in laws are from Poland and will be using our kitchen to create traditional Polish dishes.
In the mean time I wish everyone well and hope to attend the next reunion. Do we have to wait another 10 years? Is 5 to soon?
