Emily Montegeudo Wascome

Since high school graduation in 1971, I completed a B.S. degree from LSU in Math/Science and taught only one semester at ZHS in 1975! I began working in IT for the state in the Dept of Natural Resources, then retired in 2008 from the Division of Administration. My hubby, Joe, and I have raised three sons and have three grandsons and one granddaughter. We built and have lived in the same house since 1977 and enjoy having our sons and grandchildren living close by.

I grew up and lived in Zachary for all of my school years. I started 1st grade at Zachary High (no kindergarten back then) and went to the 3rd and 4th grades at the then brand new Zachary Elementary. Then back to Zachary High for 5th-12th grades. I remember being in elementary grades and watching fights among the high school boys in the school yard by the shed where the Coke machine was. Quite an impression on me! And I remember when Cokes from the machine went from $.05 to $.06 and we had to keep up with that extra penny. :)
