At last, I'm sorting through the old love letters!
Not mine, my mothers, ha ha. Decades ago she had sealed them in a large box. And knowing they might help to explain the chaos of my childhood home, she left them for me to read after she passed. When finished, I will destroy them --but then for myself as well as for her. My brother just looks at the big old box and shakes his head. But that's the beginning of a longer story. Here's the shorter one:

¶  For the last 25 years of work, I was in the public sector writing technical specifications and evaluating the competitive bids submitted in response to my specs. One does not grow up dreaming of writing specs; but the work was steady, so I stayed 'til retirement in August 2010. Prior to spec-writing, my path had meandered. After SUNY-Binghamton, I did foster-care casework in Utica, New York; then similar work in Montréal; and then staff work at a retreat center in Pennsylvania. But I grew tired of poverty. So I shifted gears. Began editing tech manuals for US Navy nuclear-powered vessels, and grew into editing private-sector R&D executive reports. Even tried repairing word-processing systems until it became evident I'm better with documents than machines. And oh yes, I got miserably married and gratefully divorced. Have owned my own house for 26 years now. And best of all, I found my way into the areas I've come to love most: the practice of subtle-energy (hands-on, etc) healing methods, and the exploration of inter-species communication. Hey, you can't make this stuff up. You just press on and keep the faith.

AND ONE MORE POINT.  Back in '87 (our "25th") Steve Lynch submitted his bio info for me to assemble, including this message: "For Frank DeLucia: I miss you --I think of you often." By mistake, to my regret, those words were omitted from Steve's remarks in our 1987 directory (25th reunion). With appreciation, I bring them into our 50th year.
