Mary Marquis
Passed: Nov. 1, 2013

Mary, wife of Gilbert Marquis (Enrouter), was at Rhein Main in the late 1980s.

Mary Marquis, 52, passed away November 1, 2013. Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 12, 2013 starting at 9:00 AM until the Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church located at 603 12th St N in Virginia. Fr. O’Donnell will officiate. Arrangements are with Range Funeral Home in Virginia.

Mary was born in Virginia MN to Betty and Joe Cunningham. She attended the Virginia Public Schools, where she was a Blue Devils sports enthusiast and cheerleader. After graduation, she soon developed a passion for world travel. Mary’s desire to travel brought her to Germany where she met her husband of 29 years, Gilbert Marquis.  Gil and Mary were married at the Sacred Heart Church on June 16, 1984 where they celebrated their reception dancing to Doc and the Surgeons.  Mary’s greatest wish came to fruition as she became a loving mother of three over the next seven years to Maygan, Andrew, and C’elsea. The family grew up investing a lot of time enjoying their cabin at Sand Lake located next door to OMA. It was not only handy but fun having grandma next door. There was a lot of activity when friends and cousins, Sean, Erin, and Anna Podpeskar, and Morgan and Ryan Cunningham got together with them. Holidays always included the close knit extended family as well. While the Marquis called Virginia home, they purchased a residence in Arizona to accommodate Gil’s primary place of employment, the children’s college plans and to prepare for Gil and Mary’s retirement. Maygan works and resides in Tucson, Andrew attends the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, and C’elsea attends Paul Mitchell The School Phoenix.

Mary took pride in working closely with Administration and patients as an Office Manager Assistant for eight years with Woodland Urology and more recently as a Clinical Operations Assistant for Essentia Health. Mary had an ability to select true friends who she enjoyed sharing time and a good sense of humor with. Her gentle spirit was unique and inspiring to family and friends.
