Thomas E. Gillis, 49,  died on Tuesday, March 12, 1996 at Lima Memorial Hospital following an apparent heart attack.

He was born May 25, 1946, in Sterling, Illinois to Clarence and Cora Belle Gillis. He was married to the former Karen Murphy.

Tom was a social worker for 15 years at the Mercer County Department of Human Services. He was an assistant varsity baseball coach at Celina High School from 1981 - 1992 and eighth-grade girl's basketball coach at Celina Junior High School from 1979 - 1992.
