Your Life Story:
Wow -- not easy! Since I am an "invited" guest -- my beginnings with the "crowd" began at age 10 when Mr. Lovisek and Mrs. LaGalia would coach volleyball on Sat mornings at PS 173. During the summers, PS 173 would be open and the neighborhood kids would attend, being able to play sports (great "Gerry Special" and killer "Dodgeball!"). Then, the "guys" from Holy Family started hanging around 173 park. Not only did I learn how to play cards, but I also "learned" other things! I would also love to go to all of the Holy Family basketball games, both CYO and high school. The Bunkhouse became my home away from home. I attended York College from 1971 thru 1974, losing interest and direction. In the late 70's, everyone started going their separate ways -- but we all seemed to remain "linked" up. I began working at a law office on Staten Island in 1977 and progressed to the City and worked at large firms through the 1980's. I visited Israel in 1982, and went again in 1988, volunteering through the Volunteers for Israel, stationed on an army base in the Negev desert for 3 weeks. I was very close to gaining residence. Soon after returning to a law firm as it's marketing director, I met my husband and became engaged in 1989. I moved to Long Island and managed a law firm in Garden City until 1993. At 40, I had my son. What an enlightening experience! Since then, I have held a number of jobs. From 1996 through 2003, I was an administrative assistant to a Reverend at a Roman Catholic church! At this point in my life, when my son no longer "needs" me, my new endeavor is form a business that assists seniors and special needs adults in their homes with their financials.
