John D. Kenyon

Kenyon, John "Jay" D., Jr. age 66, of Bloomington, passed away suddenly on April 2, 2013 at his home. Born Sept. 14, 1946 in Mpls to John D. Kenyon Sr. and Ann (O'Brien) Kenyon. John was a 1964 graduate of Hopkins High School, attended St. Cloud State University and served in the Naval Air Reserves from 1967 to 1973. He was employed in the car sales industry for many years. John is survived by his parents; brother, Paul Kenyon; children, Jennifer Kenyon, Christie (Nick) Greco, Patrick (Felicia) Kenyon, Zachary (Fawn VanEps) Kenyon and Emily Kenyon; loving children, Courtney Greco, Meghan Greco and Jack Kenyon; also many other relatives and friends. Bastyr Dale A., age 56, of Eden Prairie. Went to be with the Lord on 5/3/03. Preceded in death by father, Leonard; and infant brother, Roger. Survived by loving mother, LaVerne; wife, Virginia; daughters, Kari, Jodi (Sean) Ladd, Danielle & special friend, Dennis; sisters, Judith (Gayle) Stroud, Diane (James) Kaluzne, Brenda (Neil) Hieb, Lynne (Fred) Longhway, Carole (George) Phillippe and Denise (Brett) Erickson; brothers, Ronald (Lyn), David (Susanne) and Timm (Heather); numerous nieces, nephews and many, many friends. Leslie (Lord) Haugen Haugen, Leslie (Lord) 61, of Bloomington formerly of Hopkins, lost her battle with lung cancer on Oct. 19, 2007. Steve (Weiser) Zaikowsky

Zaikowsky, Steve (Weiser) "Zeke" age 64 of Excelsior, passed away peacefully on Sept. 26, 2010. He was preceded in death by parents Dimitri Zaikowsky and Claudia Weiser and brother, Tom Weiser. Steve will be deeply missed by brothers, John Weiser (Tony Moyers), Bob (Jan) Weiser, and Peter (Laurie) Weiser, nieces Elizabeth and Jayne Weiser, and his beloved Katie Gordon. Steve will also be missed by his long time four-legged companion, Duke. Steve was a classic handyman. He loved to diagnose and fix things with a commitment to quality craftsmanship. He brought the same creativity that led him to art school as a young man to remodeling houses later in life. Steve had a gentle spirit and humility. He knew his mind and expressed his opinions but respected those of others and appreciated them for who they are. He inspired all those around him, even during tough times, with his gratitude, acceptance, and gentle wit. He loved cars, music, dogs, art, good-looking women, and all of his friends and family. A special thank you to the staff and musicians at the 318 Cafe. The family would also like to express its appreciation to the wonderful staff at the Marie Steiner Kelting Hospice Home and the Park Nicollet Methodist Hospice. He graduated from Hopkins H.S. where he played basketball under coach Ken Novak Sr. He was a Vietnam veteran, who served his country in the U.S. Navy. Dr. L. Peter Bast Bast, Dr. L. Peter Dr. Bast, age 69, Minneapolis, passed away on July 3rd from cardiac complications at HCMC. Survived by his spouse, Jeremy Fisher, and their loving dogs Coco Chanel and Jack Daniels, sister LeRona and her spouse Chuck Redepenning, nephews Erik and Jason, nieces Tara and Kori, great-nephews and great-niece, extended family and friends. Dr. Bast was a 1979 Doctorate graduate of the University of Minnesota and a Doctor of Psychology in the College of Pharmacology. Dr. Bast was a tireless advocate of the less fortunate. His family will miss his stories, both the real ones and those he created for entertainment. He was bigger than life.
