My most vivid memory has to be of band rehearsals and learning the formations. I'll also never forget the year we were marching in the Thanksgiving parade, and my drum strap on my leg broke -- I had to march (and dance) most of the way with my drum banging against my leg and the metal poking a hole in my thigh. I'll never forget Mr. Spears coming out during lunch to bum cigarettes from me and swearing he was starting to squat to pee because I smoked Virginia Slims.

I went to UNC-Greensboro and majored in partying, so they asked me to find some place else to play. I then went to Guilford Tech until President Reagan decided students could not receive SS benefits over the summer. I then had to join the working world. During this time, I had the misfortune to get involved with scum of the earth abusive assholes. I moved back to Charlotte to get away from the 2nd abuser I hooked up with, and finally found Richard, at, of all places, a bar called Boopers Bar and Boogie. That was in 1986, and we were together until 2014 when he decided he wanted a younger woman.

While going to college at UNC-G, I attended a professional wrestling match. While at the match, I got into a shouting match with one of the wrestlers (Greg Valentine). He was in the ring and I was in the audience. After the show was over, I was offered a position with the WWE as a valet for one of the wrestlers. I turned it down, though, because I was afraid my mom would disown me. Today, my son would be in seventh heaven if I had taken that job!

I went to college and partied more than I studied. I met my husband in 1986 at a bar in Charlotte. We lived together for almost 5 years before getting married in 1991. In 1995, we got the surprise of our lives when we found out I was pregnant. Our son has been a most joyous blessing to us. He has had some medical issues that have resulted in 6 surgeries, but we are handling things one step at a time.
