Eric, what a great guy, amazing Airman, and amazing dad and husband. You will always be forever in our thoughts and prayers as will your family! May you be with all of them now, always! Thank you so much for your service and for being an amazing daddy, and husband to that beautiful family of yours.

Obituary for Eric Michael Bruntz
Eric Michael Bruntz, 40, of North Pole, Ala., died on March 25, 2015. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 31 at 6 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 331 E. 8th Ave North Pole, Alaska 99705. The Chapel of Chimes Funeral Home is making arrangements. A memorial service will be held at 1 PM on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel in Scottsbluff with Rev. Ed Hunzeker officiating. Casual attire is appropriate. Military honors by United States Air Force Honor Guard. Online condolences may be left at www.geringchapel.com

He was born on May 7, 1974, in Scottsbluff. He attended Gering Public Schools. Eric joined the Air Force soon after graduating from Gering High School in 1992. He was stationed in Germany where he met his wife Rebecca (Vause) and they were married October 13, 1995.

Throughout his service Eric was deployed to Kuwait, Baghdad, Bahrain and Japan after the earthquake. He also served tours in North Dakota, England, Korea and then finally to Alaska in 2009. After 20 years of service, Eric retired as a technical sergeant in 2014. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in human services from Wayland Baptist University.

Eric loved his family and was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone. He spent many years helping airmen, soldiers, and their families through the Family Readiness Program and Wounded Warriors Program. Eric was an avid Cornhusker and Broncos fan. He was active in his church and as a Boy Scout leader; he helped many boys progress through their ranks. He loved playing with his children; enjoyed riding his four-wheeler, making people laugh, country music and chocolate.

Eric is survived by his wife Rebecca Bruntz; his children; Colton, 18, Cayley, 15, Ty, 11, and Rylie, 8; his mother Jane Brown; his father Ronald Bruntz and step-mother Brenda Bruntz; and sister Amber (Duane) Markuson. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Eric was preceded in death by his grandparents Jake and Helen Bruntz, Ray and Shirley Willman, and step-father Ed Brown.

Condolences can be sent to Eric Bruntz’ family at 3032 TaxiLane B, North Pole, Alaska, 99705. A memorial fund has been established at Mt. McKinley Bank, account number 37701708 for his children.
