February 10, 2021

December 12, 1940 - February 10, 2021

Robert M. Rorison, age 80 from Springfield, VT peacefully passed away on February 10, 2021 after a brief illness. He was the son of David and Eleanor Rorison. Bob graduated from Springfield High School in 1959 and immediately enlisted in the army, serving in active duty for three years followed by reserves for three more. Upon returning home, he began employment at Gurney Brother’s Construction where he worked for 46 years as a heavy equipment operator and welder before retiring.

On February 8th, 1996, Bob married his true love, Barbara Faye Rorison. Bob and Barbara just celebrated their 25thwedding anniversary.

Bob had an adventurous side, which often led him to researching and exploring all parts of the world (with his wife by his side).  He obtained his student pilot license in his earlier days, worked on multiple farms as a helping hand, and hosted many family gatherings (including giving the kids tractor rides) throughout the years.

Bob had a charismatic smile that would light up a room and was always going out of his way to help others. He had a great sense of humor and was a jokester by nature. His tractor and homestead were his pride and joy, along with his family and friends.

Bob is survived by his loving wife, Barbara (Faye) of Springfield, VT; two step-children, Bobbi-Jo St. Peter and Corey Topolski, sister Phyllis (and Thad) Hanus, Tom (and Jodi) Rorison, Gary Rorison (and Debra Whitcomb), Kathleen Rorison (and Larry Bassett), step-grandchildren Cassandra (Tyler) Ford, Andrew St. Peter, and nieces and nephews, Scott (Becky) Greene, Stacie (Carl) Marshall, Tim (Sarah) Greene, Meghan (Patrick) Applegate and nine grand nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his parents, Eleanor Rorison in 1999 and David Rorison in 2018, brother Keith Rorison in 1990, son-in-law Jeffrey St. Peter in 2018, and brother-in-law Francis Greene in 2000.

There will be a celebration of life for Bob later in the spring or summer, date to be determined. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Springfield EMS or the Springfield Humane Society.
