Just briefly, I'm still in Austin; divorced; one stepson; stepdaughter sadly deceased. I taught English and Spanish for a year; worked at UT, then at the Texas Historical Commission. I have been working at Texas Monthly since 1974. I'm presently one of its executive editors. My specialty is food, and I am the magazine's chief dining critic.
