Billie was my boyfriend's (Johnny Kelso) best friend and we often double-dated with him and Sharon Holmans. Billie married and divorced but I can't remember her name. I do remember they had a daughter named Dawn Denise, nicknamed Dondie. After remarrying, he was working in his garage one day and his (then) wife sent her son (Billie's stepson) out to tell him lunch was ready and tragically he found Billie dead. At first they thought it was a heart attack but upon closer inspection, someone had shot him. I don't know if they ever found out who it was, but I do know that for a very long time, his was the longest unsolved murder in the County.
His picture here does not do him justice. Billie was very cute and very sexy, getting him into trouble with girls a lot.
Johnny quit school before graduating, joining either the Navy or the Marine Corps. He introduced me to my first, only, and still husband. He married Virginia Ward and they had 3 or 4 children. He suffered PTSD after being discharged and became an alcoholic. He died from his drinking.
