David was also a good golfer as he was on the McCallum golf team and was one of our better golfers.  Mike Metschan

Sorry to hear of Davids passing. We were really good friends in High School. We took several trips to Port Arkansas fishing, even went to Lake Travis to study for finals on his 25 ft Owens Cabin Cruiser. I'll never forget the time David & I went to Phoenix to pick up Glen Randall. Lots of Memories at SAN Antonio Race Track watching him race his 40 Ford and his 59 Impala. Memories I'll never forget!

I spent a lot of time with David, and the loss hits close to home. I remember all the running around in the big red '59 Chev, sometimes possibly a little over the speed limit on Austin's back streets. His dad really doted on David and had the opinion that just one more coat of lacquer on the old Ford couldn't hurt. We were together on a bowling team and spent time at the little BBQ place (really great) just down from school, among many others. Time out fishing, sometimes unavoidably missing classes, was always a favorite both at Marble Falls and Lake Travis, especially off his boat. I'm really glad we have this website to keep up with old friends whether they continue with new stories or just bring back special feelings and memories with their passing.

Sorry to hear of David passing.   Had a good renewal of our friendship at one of the reunions, 10th or 30th  not sure which.  David was a good friend and we had some good times cruising in his ford or his impala.  Condolances to his family, he was a neat guy.

It is so sad to read about David's death.  He  always had an outgoing personality.  I can vision him in my third grade class.  HE was assigned,by the teacher to take names, of kids that a  he felt acted up, while she took a break.  He told  to me,  Patsy I will  put your name on the list, unless I gave him my new pencil;  I had just gotten the day before.  Being shy , I gave him the pencil.  I  have never forgotten that event.  We were in many classes together  throughout our schools years.  We both lived in the Rosedale area  in Austin. He will be remembered my me.  God bless

I  grew up with David.  We went to Rosedale Baptist Church together along with Jerry Spillar, Richard Price and many others.  Sorry to hear of his passing. God Help his family through this difficult time.  RIP, David.

Although David and I were not very close friends, I remember going through all of my grade school years at Rosedale Elementary School with David.  I believe we were always in the same class too.  Then there were the years at the new junior high - Lamar, and the fairly new McCallum HS.  He was always a big guy and involved in sports in those early years.  I think he got more into fishing and cars later, which some of his closer friends have spoken about in their comments.  I am very sorry to hear of his passing and send my condolences to his family.  I pray that the hurt is beginning to become less painful and the happy memories stronger as time passes.
