In Memory

Linda Daniels (Clynch)

Linda Clynch was born in Austin, TX on June 2nd, 1943 and received her wings to heaven on Saturday, May 13th, 2023.

Linda battled through multiple health issues rooted to her heart since the summer of 2019. She’s now pain free with no struggles in a magical place of pure joy and happiness. Linda has reunited with her high school sweetheart & husband she hasn’t seen since 1986. She’s together again with her mom and dad and all of our beloved family we have lost including her mother-in-law, the lady we called, “G-Ma”.

Her sorority of St. John’s United Methodist Church best friends, who received their homecoming call before her, are all sharing laughs, tall tales, and possibly margaritas again. Linda is a true Austin original.

Daughter of D.B. and Charlie Mae Daniels, she grew up on Avenue B and was a proud graduate of McCallum High School.

She married her high school crush, David Clynch after graduation and followed his career in the U.S. Army and briefly left Austin and lived in the Killeen/Harker Heights area. They returned to Austin so David could begin his career in the automobile industry and purchased their 1st home off of Payne Avenue near St. John’s United Methodist Church, which became a fruitful, permanent fixture in their lives.

They became parents through the adoption process. Choosing their daughter, Cindy in 1967 and Shawn in 1973, Linda was the ultimate nurturing and loving mom. She poured herself into her children and did so until the end. Raising her children through faith and in the St. John’s UMC family was a priority.

Linda took great pride in both of her children’s journey through L.C. Anderson High School and the fact they both graduated from college. Cindy at Southwest Texas (now Texas State) and Shawn at Stephen F. Austin State University. She was a proud Bobcat and Lumberjack mom. Worth noting, she adopted the role as a second mom to several of Shawn’s friends especially during the Anderson Trojan football days. All of which she remain connected to and earned the title of, “Mama C”. She loved them all.

One of her life accomplishments was raising two kids and creating a life through perseverance and faith as a widowed mom since 1986. She pushed through life’s obstacles and did so with unmatched strength and a unique positive perspective. But, her pride and joy was her grandchildren: Rebecca, Danielle, and David. And, loved her moments with her extended family members on the Clynch and Frazier sides of the family.

Her special place to visit was Rockport, Texas. She was a talented artist and recreated hill country scenes onto a canvas with an emphasis on bluebonnets. In the coming weeks, her son, Shawn will have a link to bid on one of pieces of artwork. The proceeds from the highest bidder will be donated to St. John’s United Methodist Church

Shawn, Cindy and Linda’s family would like to thank the entire staff on each of the floors of St. David’s Hospital on 32nd Street in Austin, St. David’s North in Austin, Amy Kowalski, Enhabit Health, Pamela Fennell, Encompass Health, and each of her specialists. And, most of all the family is grateful for the outpouring of love and support the past four years, especially the past 13 months.

A graveside service for Linda was held Saturday, May 20, 2023 from 2:00 PM at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Cemetery, 14501 North Ih-35, Pflugerville, TX 78660.

Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.cookwaldendavisfuneralhome.com for the Clynch family.
