Dale Martin

Dale Latham Martin,80, of Jonestown Texas passed away peacefully February 28,2022 surrounded by family. Dale was born June 8, 1941 to Bruce Latham Martin and Helen Marie Johnson. After the death of his mother, his uncle Frank and Arminda Martin raised him as their own.

He graduated from McCallum High School in 1961. After graduation, he began a 30 year career with Texas Department of Transportation (Tx Dot). In 1962 he met Suzan (Sue)Syler and they wed in 1963 going on to have 3 children James, Matthew and Mark.

After retiring in 1993, he spent his time collecting, working on and researching classic cars. He was a 36 year member of the Central Texas Classic Chevy Club. His favorite was his 1957 Corvette.

He was preceded in death by his mother, father, uncle, aunt and his beloved grandfather Gus Johnson. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Sue and his sons James Latham Martin (Torri Weathersby), Matthew Michael Martin and Mark Benjamin Martin (Paige Martin) and grandson Dylan James Holmes.

Services will be held at 1:00 pm on March 7, 2022 at Weed Corley Fish Funeral Home 2620 South Congress Ave. Austin, TX. Burial will be immediately following at Live Oak Cemetery in Manchaca, TX. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, a donation be made to an organization of your choice fighting cancer.
