Yes, I remember Esteen. He lived just North of Koening Ln Behind the pool on Burnet Rd. We played football on Saturday mornings and had a great time. A very likeable person and a good High School friend..I do not know the details of his passing.
Are we sure Esteen is deceased? I can find no record of his death and online records indicate he and his wife Sharon are still living in Huntsville (he worked for the prison system there). It's been at least ten years since I last spoke to him.
I lived just around the corner from Esteen and we were best friends in high school. He had a car and I didn't, so we often rode to school together and walked down to the drive-in movie on Burnet road. Their house was adjacent to Northwest Park and his dad, S.T. Person, was the caretaker for the pool and we would sneak in and swim after the pool closed.
Esteen was born May 8, 1943 in Adamsville, Lampasas County, Texas. He had a sister named Sharon who was four years younger than he was. He married Barbara in 1968 and then Sharon in 1986 and lived in Huntsville.
