Adon Sitra

An Austin native, Real Estate Broker, Developer and Insurance Broker was born June 8, 1944 to Lucius and Janie Sitra and died June 10, 2011. He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Carolyn Atkinson Sitra and his brother-in- law, Ashby Atkinson, two sons, Scott and Matt and families.

A McCallum High School graduate, Adon was honored as a member of the National High School All American Football Team in 1962. He graduated from TCU and while there was a member of SAE fraternity and the Frog Varsity Football Team. He was a Most Valuable Lineman in 1965 and a Most Valuable All-Around Football Player in 1966. Adon served in the U.S. Army as a 2nd Lt. in the Adjutant General's Corp at Fort Sam Houston and was honored for meritorious service. He was TCU Austin Alumni President for 2 years. A member of The Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, the Bachelor's Club of Austin, Admiral's Club, Headliners Club, Austin Country Club, Austin Assembly, The Dance Club, and Westwood Country Club.

Most important to Adon was his mentoring in the “1st Tee Program of Austin.”

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, 3201 Windsor Road, followed by a reception at the church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Frog Club at TCU, 1st Tee of Austin, or the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd.
