Doyle Templeton

Doyle Wayne Templeton, age 69, of Jasper, died unexpectedly at his residence on July 23, 2011. He was born on June 17, 1942, in Austin, Texas. He was a lifelong resident of Texas and had lived in Jasper since 1968. He was a graduate of McCallum High School in Austin. He was a veteran of the United States Army and studied radiology at St. Edward's University before beginning a ten year career in healthcare delivery and administration. He moved his family to East Texas to open Jasper Memorial Hospital. His second career began with his retraining as an industrial electrician and he worked offshore for Transco, and Amerada Hess. He loved working offshore and made good friends in that industry. He retired in 2003 and focused the remainder of his vocational efforts on what he loved: beef cattle production, and running Pipe Dream Farms. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Linda Templeton; his children, Mitch Templeton of Beaumont, Cassaundra Smith of Pearland, Ginger Kalafatis of Jasper and Tiffany Koehn of Denver; his brothers, Randy Templeton of Bastrop, and Darold Templeton of Cedar Hill. He had fourteen grandchildren. Funeral services are Wednesday, July 27, 2:00 p.m., Forest Oaks, with burial to follow in Forest Oaks Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, make a donation to Gideons or the local livestock youth group of your choice. A fund has been established at First Bank and Trust of Jasper to benefit area youth in their agricultural pursuits.

I was in FFA with Doyle in HS, had lots of good times togrether. Rest In Peace my friend.
