Old School sold 4/25/2013

The Austintown Board of Education has officially announced the sale of the old Austintown Fitch High School that has been sitting at 5800 Mahoning Ave since construction in 1915.

The old school which was being used as a middle school until it was closed in 2007 will be torn down to be replaced by Kohls Department Store, demolition date not set. The announced sale price was $2.5 million. Read more about the history of the building by clicking here.

Remember facing this while the Fitch Band played the National Anthem before a football game? Larry Cadman and son take down the flagpole from the old Fitch football field. It will be used as a part of the new Veterans' Memorial on the new Austintown Fitch Campus.
