Is there any grief - like this grief? Any sorrow so deep - as this sorrow?

Our hearts are filled with questions we cannot seem to answer - and a pain so profound we wonder if anyone can touch it. Yet God is saying…..I can…..

As we celebrate this moment of remembrance of those we have lost since we graduated - it should make us think of this: It was the end of something GOOD but the beginning of something much BETTER.

Their death was never an ending - but a new beginning.

We are very grateful for the life of our classmates. The joy and wonder these friends brought to us all - was a great gift to us. Let’s allow those memories to settle deeply within us and let’s have grateful hearts - even in our sorrow.

In our grateful sorrow, I pray that God will make us strong to commit ourselves and those we love to His never-ending care. In our perplexity may we trust - where we cannot understand - knowing that the eternal God is our refuge and underneath are His everlasting comforting arms.

The same comforting arms that reached out to Rene, Michael, Ben, Lou and Luis and welcomed them home.

Let’s have gratitude for the incredible everlasting memories of our classmates.

We miss you all…….

PSALM 23

The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.

He makes me lie down in green pastures,

He leads me beside quiet waters,

He restores my soul.

He guides me in paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me;

Your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.

You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.

Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life,

and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

Angels

A poem by Luis Carlos

Once I knew three angels that flew about me
Keeping me warm with their loving feathers
Like a king they held me up so highly
Keeping me dry in days of rainy weather

Endearments daily spoiled me
Words of love never failing to come my way
Caressin my face, filling my heart
Which draw tears from memory to this day

Angels come and go one never knows why
They never sleep, probably never die
Like children laughing flying gracefully
My angels you may borrow should you cry

Yes I am one to lend you my angels
Please return them promptly
They are serious about happiness
And I am in much need of joy
