I was in contact with Jean in May and June of this year.  She shared she was battling pancreatic cancer.  She was very upbeat and remained positive she could win the battle.  A strong faith.  I'm sorry as July and August rolled around I lost contact with her.  Her family and friends are in my prayers.

Very saddened to hear of Jean's death.  She was a good friend and I remember her with pleasure.  Feeling another chuck of my life  is gone with her passing.

For Helen and I entering Batavia on Clinton St. Rd. will always be remembering Jean Johnson.    Her family farm land has been developed but her family house remains.      We are very grateful for being able to connect with Jean and husband Charlie at reunions and last spent time with them at our reunion in August 2022.   Jean wanted to introduce her friend Justin Case who turned out to be her cane!    Jean was always warm and encouraging.   From Helen Mark Soanes:    My friendship with Jean Johnson grew through Girl Scouts.  Through Jean I also became aware of the full schedule of her family's farm and comfortable with their range of animals.  Just the two of us could enjoy eating tomatos like apples in summer and skating on farm property in winter.  Her family home also welcomed many for sleepovers and autumn hayrides.  At our recent reunion much was shared about gratefulness for growing up when we did and with very caring classmates.  I am thankful to have shared those years with Jean Johnson.
