
Ernest Robert Huff.
Ernest R. Huff, 82, of Naples, FL, formerly of Batavia, died Sunday, January 10, 1988, in the Lely Palms Health Care Center, Naples.
A former City of Batavia councilman, Mr. Huff was born in St. Johnsville, July 12, 1905. He was a son of Ernest R. and Carrie Zoeller Huff. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Naples. Mr. Huff was a retired Colonel in the U.S. Army and a retired science teacher at Batavia High School
Survivors include his wife, Dorris, three sons, E. Robert of Livingston N.J., David E. of Litchfield, CT, and Paul E. of Fort Collins, CO; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Services were today at the Hodges Funeral Chapel, Naples, FL. Interment was in Naples Memorial Gardens.

I fondly recall listening (radio, of course) to the World Series during his classes. I don't recall any assignment during that time, earlier in the year in those days, warm, weather, a little lazy, hazy, almost summer weather. And somehow we were made to feel that it was all for our benefit. Thank you, Mr. Huff. RIP.
