
Sal Puleo, 75, of Batavia, an induustrial arts teacher in the Batavia City school system for 32 years, died Wednesday, January 2, 1991, at Genesee Memorial Hospital, following a short illness.
Mr. Puleo was born August 3, 1915, in Buffalo, a son of the late Joseph and Rose Jufer Puleo.
He was a member of St. Mary's Church, the New York State Retired Teachers' Association, and the Mt. Arab Preserve Association, and was a World War II Navy veteran.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Catherine Sheils Puleo, three sons and daughters-in-law, Dennis and Florence Puleo and Thomas and Shirley Puleo of Batavia, and Robert and Patricia Puleo of Bethany; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Rosemary and Richard Eaton of Michigan, Cathie and Arthur English of Honeoye Falls, and Karen Merriman of East Pembroke; a brother and sister-in-law, Dr. Joseph and Barbara Puleo of Elma; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Dolly and Paul Holmes of Binghamton and Mary Lou Puleo of Williamsville; 11 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
He was a brother of the late John Puleo.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Gilmartin Funeral Home, where services will be at 9 a.m. Saturday. A mass of Christian burial will follow at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, with burial in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
