Mrs. Mary Jo Williamee Sprague
 
BATAVIA - Mrs. Mary Jo Williamee Sprague, 89, a retired teacher at both Batavia High School and Le Roy School, died Tuesday, December 26, 2006 at Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester.
 
Mrs. Sprague was born in Batavia June 1, 1917, a daughter of the late Joseph and Sarah Warboys Quirk. She was a lifetime member of St. Joseph's Church and the Sodality. A graduate of the College of St. Vincent in New York City and the University of Buffalo, she was a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma and women educators, the AAUW, the New York State Retired Teachers Association, and was an avid bridge player.
 
Her late husband, Elwyn W. Sprague, died in 2006.
 
Survivors include a daughter, Patricia (William) Burns of Batavia, three grandchildren, Catherine Burns and Thomas Burns, both of Chicago, and William (Melissa) Burns of Long Island.
 
She was a sister of the late Elizabeth Quirk.
 
Friends may attend a Mass of Christian burial at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph's Church. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Batavia.

 I am grateful to Mrs. Williamee (Sprague), who taught me touch typing, which I never thought I would need. Just look at me now! Still not the greatest, but the skills I learned from her are a great asset.
