Jackie,
I found Jackie Phillips. Her sister emailed me. Jackie does not have an email address. So I guess I will be giving her a call.

Jackie, I forgot about Tommy dating Jackie. How is he doing? I keep telling myself I'm ready to retire again but, like I told "Cookie" it gives me a reason to get out of my pj's in the morning. I do enjoy working. wished Jackie Phillips had an email address so I could write her. When I call her I will give you the update.

Jackie, you misunderstood my plea!! I was asking why more people don't e-mail in general so I can add them to my group e-mail when sending out updates for the reunion and class matters. As it stands now, whenever it gets closer to the reunion in addition to the group e-mails, I have to create & mail over 100 letters to classmates informing them about the reunion! I LOVE THIS BLOG! KEEP IT COMING!

I don't know what we did before we had email or cell phones. My son told his daughters a story about "way back" when there were only three channels! Can't wait to see what we can't live without ten years from now.....

Jackie, you're too funny. We use ours all the time. I have a group of 7 girlfriends that keep an email conversation running all day long. Some of us still work, one has moved to FL, but it lets us laugh or cry together as if we're all in the same room. As for the digital camera, you have to jump out there and get one. Experience life on the edge! I have taken more pics since we got ours than I ever did before. Of course, most of them are just stored on the computer (see how important it is!) and not printed but I still enjoy browsing through them so easily or making a slideshow of them to show when the kids come over for family dinners. They love that. Now if I could just get my mother to email but at 85 I don't see that happening!

Carolyn, thanks for such kind words about my mom. So sorry to hear about your mom. I lost my dad in 1998. We seem to be at the age where we're losing our parents and now our friends, too. Difficult. Know exactly what you mean about getting the kids to show you how to use the camera. My grandson is my resident expert. My aunt and a lot of her family live in Ocala. What a beautiful area. Know you enjoy your visits there. Get that camera and make yourself use it, you won't regret it!

Catherine and Caroline;

I love the Ocala area. I go down there fairly often. As a matter of fact I'll be down there the first week of Nov. I was down in Ocala in May and Sept. but it was a little rough with Faye vacationing in Fla. while I was there. Mike LaGarde "68"

Catherine Holton Pearce ('68)

Mike, do you have family or friends there or just love the area? It really is beautiful. I haven't been there for several years. Maybe next year... I live in N. TX. Absolutely love it here but as for scenery, well, I guess that's what vacations are for!

Carolyn,
Hope everything continues to go well for your daughter and son-in-law so that you'll soon have that grandchild to spoil rotten. You'll need that digital camera. LOL I had one of those second retirement jobs, too. I was in banking for 30 years and decided to retire. That lasted about 3 weeks. Went back to work as a bookkeeper for a couple years and loved it. Have been retired now for over 8 years so looks like this one is going to work! I imagine that 26 yrs of law enforcement was pretty stressful. Where did you work? Is your dad in poor health? We're going to my mom's in TN for Thanksgiving. My son lives in Royal Palm Beach and he and his wife are coming here for Christmas this year. Very excited about that. Love having all my chicks under one roof, which doesn't happen often enough.

Carolyn, glad your dad is getting better. Sometimes a fall or broken bone for an elderly person starts them on a road to more problems. His recovery is a testament to your good nursing skills.

Jackie and Carolyn, thanks for the birthday wishes and blessing. And, happy BD to you, too, Carolyn. For a long time I had my grandson convinced I was 39 every year. Then his dad ratted me out...

Jackie;
I used to have problems with the Gout. The doctor put me on Allopurinol on a daily dose. Haven't had a problem in six years and he also told me that Allopurinol will prevent kidney stones because they are similar to the build up of crystals that cause the probems.

Hey, did we ever think that we would be talking about kidney stones, gout, etc.??? When did we get so old?? When we were kids, we would just roll our eyes when our parents talked about such things. I've got to get some younger friends!!LOL Brenda
