IT'S A SMALL WORLD

My family and I moved from Germany to Colorado Springs in 1980. In the spring of 1981, I was in a King Soopers Grocery store, they're the QFC of C0olorado and was at the register when I heard a very familiar voice, but one I had not heard in 18 years. I turned around to discover Bob Davies as the store Manager and he didn't look a day older than he did in 1963.

Bob and I attended the 20th reunion in 1983, had a great time and spent a lot of time at the Bellevue Golf Course that week.

In May of 1963, Bob and I travelled to Vancouver to visit his cousins there. Bob was born and raised in Canada. We crossed the Lions Gate Bridge the day they lifted the toll. We didn't have anywhere to stay so we slept in Stanley Park, not knowing it was illegal!!

Bob had married and later divorced Susan Hansen, a Bellevue High grad, her father owned Hansen Buick. He was drafted into the Army and was trained as a Medic with a duty station of Fort Carson. That's how he ended up in Colorado Springs. By 1981 he had recovered from a serious bout with cancer. He also had some property as I recall in western Colorado and had a few horses. He moved back to Bellevue in the early 90's and then I lost track of him. I suspect he may have returned to Colorado. A great guy, could really hit a golf ball well. I attempted to track him down for the reunion but couldn't locate him. It really is a small world.
