Spent too much of my adult life breaking up with women & two divorces; otherwise I spent the bulk of time starting 4 businesses, all relating to publishing, and being special consultant for 14 years to The Metropolitan Museum of Art, NYC. Thanks to Bill Clinton signing The Berne Agreement, my last publ. business had to close. I then reverted to my earlier love and started singing professionally, again for ten years. Finally, voice just gave out. Then, studied to be a Naturalist: another early love. Am now writing a nature book under the encouragement of British nature writer Richard Fortey. Due to tick bites, developed infective endocarditis and had two open-heart surgeries ten years ago, plus multiple other medical problems since. However, today I am great! Have been living with lovely woman named Elizabeth for past 17 years. Moved out of NYC in 1990, back to the country, now Old Mystic, CT.

School Story

My most intense memory was once playing softball in the Quad, hitting the longest home run of my life but having my shoulder separated — big Earl Kamsky rushed up to me and pushed it back in.
Otherwise, I remember David Stocking remarking that a 'finals' test I wrote was "the best piece of writing he ever read".
The many music recitals and band-playing (jug-band) and off-center theatricals with Arnebeck and others in the Chapel basement are major memories. Plus, all the fun off-campus parties. Amy Leos and Kate Mattes come to mind, as do Rachel Kurland and Sally Lacey: all great gals.
Plus, Bob Ray's exemplary Eng. Comp. courses. A half-year abroad in Ireland (Seamus Heaney my teacher) and later, a half-year in London (theatre arts) where I was sent to Pinewood Studios where interviewed and dined with studio head and told him he HAD to do more James Bonds. He kissed me and cried, good old Mr. Herron. Met Roger Moore & Tony Curtis on set. I saved Bond from oblivion.
