The only war Trump had an exit plan for was Vietnam.” — JIMMY KIMMEL

Jimmy nailed that one!!! Best line I've heard in a long time. Thanks, Jack

Yeah, Jay--vets on social media are having a major chuckle over that! I expect there's even some vets hiding grins behind their MAGA hats.

Bill is another Vietnam vet, poet, and old Vietnam Veterans Against the War friend. I have removed the "graphic photo" referenced in the poem, which appears in the original online version. Sorry, Bill, too graphic for me. You understand.

School Girls

by W.D. Ehrhart

Shajareh Tayebeh Primary School

The students are all girls ages 7 to 12.

The first attack comes about 10:00 a.m.

The second comes shortly thereafter

as first responders, those who’ve survived,

and others nearby rush to try to help—

a deliberate tactic called “double tap”

designed to inflict maximum carnage.

One graphic photo shows a child’s

severed arm, another a bloody backpack.

This is what passes for foreign policy.

This is how we defend our nation.

This is what our taxes are buying.

This is what Congress refuses to stop.

This is what the world sees of us.

Take a good look.

This is what we are

Jack, that poet from your friend is so powerful and its message so tragic. It is a heartbreaker and our government did it. Love, Joanie

Back to the Contoocook just in time for the end of the ice flower season.

And a good reminder that you can be old and faded but still worthy of a second look!

I was saddened by the news that Robert Mueller had died. The "Mueller Report" became a benchmark in this stage of American history.

03/22/26 01:47 PM #19017

Jack Mallory

The current Commander in Chief of our military said of a former American POW, who spent years imprisoned and tortured, "I don't Iike people who get captured."

Now he has said of another American veteran, wounded in combat and who has served this country for decades in many other capacities, "I'm glad he's dead."

And some of those reading this helped elect this scumbag. Shame.

I was sad too Robert that Mueller died.He had real integrity something Trump will never have. He was truly non partisan. Love, Joanie

 No Kings outside Minneapolis today!

With a neighbor, Navy vet like John. Well, a little bit like John.

Deb

I'd have thought this was over the top, but since Trump's crack about Mueller's death anything seems like fair play.

Great Pictures Jack..Thanks for sending those...Love, Joanie    Here I am with Michelle Hochman Schuster and her daughter Emily.  I figured out how to post a picture on the forum somehow. In my sign that you can't see all of, I put Trumps crown attached to a helium balloon so it would fly away. He says "I lost my crown." Love to all, Joanie

Happy Vietnam Veterans Day.  thanks for your service

For the 411

On No Kings Day.....there were many many  "No King" protesters who demonstrated throughout DE especiallty in Rehoboth Beach. Also  every Sat morning many hardy  sincere people protest on Ocean Highway outside Lewes and Rehoboth  . Bless them .

 .

Joanie Bender (Grosfeld)

Nancy so good to hear abput the active protest community in the Rehoboth area and on No Kings Day.  I think the overall large and growing resistence movement is making a difference.  We are all in this together to save our Democracy. Thanks for your post.  Love, Joanie❤️

Even in little old, laid back Medford OR (where we are now), pop 86,000, thousands turned out -- 5 deep, along 1.5 miles of  wide sidewalk (you don't need more pictures).  Among so many others I liked the sign, "Flip us off if you voted for a pedophile!"  Participating in such a rally was, and still is, a much needed lift. I got a bunch of stuff in my eyes as we all sang "We Shall Overcome".

03/29/26 09:45 PM #19032

Joanie Bender (Grosfeld)

Stephen, that sounds so moving...thanks for sharing your experiences that day...Its wonderful that we and so many others were able to be a part of this great

resistence movement for Democracy. Love, Joanie

Thanks to you folks who were out there Saturday!

Our resistance to all forms of Nori's "gentle squeeze" must continue. The NYT reports that on the first day of the attack on Iran we seem to have bombed more than just that little girls' elementary school.

". . . At least 21 people were killed in the strikes, according to Iran’s state news agency, IRNA. While that figure has not been independently verified, photos and videos posted online by local media outlets show scenes from a mass funeral the next day, March 1. An additional hundred people were injured, said Mr. Iravani, Iran’s representative to the U.N.

"Some of the casualties were volleyball players who were training inside the hall when the missile struck, according to Mr. Iravani, and eyewitnesses cited by U.S.-based online media outlet Drop Site News.

"Tasnim, a semiofficial Iranian news agency, published the names of the 21 people it said were killed. An Iran-based journalist, Negin Bagheri, wrote about two of the victims: Helma Ahmadizadeh, a 10-year-old fourth-grader, and Elham Zaeri, a fifth-grader, both of whom were at volleyball practice when the missile struck. Khabar-e Jonoub, an Iranian newspaper, reported on the death of a sports coach identified as Mahmoud Najafi . . ."
