I went on to college at Oberlin College (Oberlin, Ohio) and graduate school in history at Indiana University (Bloomington). I then got my first and only full-time faculty job, in history, at Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas. I liked it, got married (to a professor of psychology) and just stayed until official retirement in 2009. The last couple of decades I'd gotten more and more interested in using computer resources in teaching, and so I've continued doing some teaching online, for Washburn, but also Buena Vista and Upper Iowa Universities in Iowa. My husband Ron and I live on 35 acres just outside of Topeka, where we love feeding and watching deer, turkeys, raccoons, coyotes, and lots and lots of birds.
