From the "Tribute Archive": "Fredric Arthur Herschelman, 80, of Metamora, died peacefully on Sunday, March 5, 2023. Fredric was born December 7, 1942, in Plymouth, Michigan to Louis and Frieda (Lagodna) Herschelman. He graduated from Seaholm High School, class of 1962. Fritz went on to earn his bachelor’s degree in engineering from the Indiana Institute of Technology. He married his beloved Paulette Lontz on January 8, 1966, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Upon earning his degree, Fred began his engineering career with General Motors Truck & Bus division – he retired in 2001 after 35 years of dedicated employment. Fred was an active member of the Lapeer Sunrise Kiwanis – a mosaic of ordinary people doing extraordinary things. Fritz and Paulette were passionate travellers as well and took many wonderful trips around the globe over the course of many years. Fred is survived by his wife, Paulette Herschelman; daughters: Kirsten (Ernest) Green of Palm Coast, Florida and Jennifer (Joseph) Schafer of Petoskey; six grandchildren: Jessica, Sarra, Ashley, Jacob, Heather and Dana; eight great grandchildren and his dear sister, Julia Herschelman of Beverly Hills, Michigan. He was preceded in death by his aforementioned parents. Fred’s family will receive friends and family from 2-6PM Friday, March 10, 2023 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer.
