Castle Aviation is proud to be part of the Veterans Airlift Command. On Wednesday, March 20th, Michael H Grossmann, President, flew the first trip in one of Castle’s Aerostars picking up a wounded warrior and his wife from Columbus Ohio to Washington D.C.
Specialist Andrew Smith was injured March 8th, 2012 18 days into his first tour to Afghanistan. He lost both legs and suffered severe injuries to his stomach, and is currently being treated at Walter Reed. He has been fighting a battle with holes in his stomach and has been unable to eat for a few weeks.
Take a minute to read about Andrew’s recovery and his amazing attitude on his facebook page.
Andrew and his wife Tori had an opportunity to get away from the hospital and have been asked to speak at a church in Ohio while they visit with some friends. VAC give them an opportunity to experience a little bit of normalcy outside of the hospital.
