Tennison Lee Brummett Celebration of Life

Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather and Friend

Born October 27, 1943 in Seattle, WA. Passed away October 10, 2014 at his home surrounded by his family.

Tenny had many happy memories of his childhood and teenage years as he grew up in the city of Auburn WA, with the “A” street gang. He graduated from Bothell High School in the class of 1961.

Tenny served in the Army Reserves for 8 years followed by a brief employment at Boeing.

He then began a 42-year. Railroad career. His journey began with the Northern Pacific Railroad, then the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad. He retired in 2004 to a life of fun and travel. Tenny with fellow friends founded the Railroad luncheon in Edmonds WA.

Tenny loved life and brought people together through his wit and humor, his love and sharing of music, and his loyal outreach to friends. Tenny was “the one” that always made the phone call to his friends and family.

He “made and stayed” the connections and his many friendships that span more than 50 years are a tribute to that effort and outreach. Tenny just made the party of life happen!

Tenny was an avid sports fan of the Huskies, Seahawks, Mariners, and NASCAR and most enjoyed his Grandchildren and their triumphs in sports and school achievements. He enjoyed activities of skiing and river rafting for many years.

He was a Member of the Whidbey Island Eagles Club where he enjoyed so many friends and the Friday Lunch Bunch.

Tenny and his wife Cate have travelled the world with a core group of friends for 20 years. Tenny enjoyed travel with adventures on cruise ships, road trips across the United States and attending events of the Iditarod and Ironman.

Tenny loved his son, Anthony and daughter, Cara, Grandchildren, Ayla, Anthony, Jackson Tennison, and Brooklynn, and they have all been by his side in this time of ill health.

Our family is so very thankful for the support and love we have received, thank you all so very much.

Tenny is survived by his wife, Cate, together and in love for 33 years.
His son, Anthony Brummett, grandchildren Jackson and Brooklynn Brummett.
His daughter, Cara Blindheim (Vic), grandchildren Ayla and Anthony Blindheim.
Siblings: his Brother Lou Brummett (Norma); his sisters: Almarette Avery; Keta Moss (Ted); and Julie Davidsen (Pat).
