I left Bothell in August, 1961 to attend Graceland College in Lamoni, Iowa. I received a Bachelor's Degree in Social Studies in 1965. Following 3 years in the Army, I completed my Master's Degree in Social Work (1970) and Ph.D. (1975)at The University of Iowa (1970). In 1974, I joined the faculty of the School of Social Work at The University of Texas at Arlington. I continue to work as a Social Work Professor at UTA, and maintain a private psychotherapy practice in Arlington, Texas. I am active in a number of professional organizations, presenting papers on various aspects of psychotherapy methods at conferences nationally and internationally. I have thoroughly enjoyed my career teaching clinical practice methods to graduate students and actively counseling clients in my private practice.

What is your greatest passion for the rest of your life?

Travel--mode of transportation & where to? U.S. and abroad.

Any time in your life, where is the SINGLE furthest place away from Bothell you have lived for six months or more?

I lived in Iowa from 1961 - 1965, and from 1968 - 1974. I served in the Army at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri and Fort Sill, Oklahoma from December 1965 to Fall 1968. I accepted a faculty appointment at The University opf Texas at Arlington in August 1974 and have lived in Arlington, Texas ever since.

What about hobbies or special interests? We'd like to hear about them.

My wife and I love to travel and with somewhat flexible work schedules manage several trips each year. I am active in a number of professional organizations, presenting papers on various aspects of psychotherapy methods at conferences nationally and internationally. I have continued my passion for cars as a collector. I have several muscle cars, American classics, and a couple later model European cars. Other hobbies include tennis and barbershop singing. I sing baritone in a Barbershop Chorus and am a member of the barbershop quartet, "Cooper Street". Cooper Street performs "gigs" at various venues in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
