Jeanie Hancock (Offret)

Jeanie (Hancock) Offret

1955 ~ 2013

Jeanie (Hancock) Offret passed away peacefully at home on August 27, 2013, with loved ones by her side.
She was born on November 4, 1955 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Keith and LaRita Hancock. Jeanie grew up in Salt Lake City and Bountiful, Utah. She married her sweetheart, John Offret, on Valentine's Day, February 14, 1980. They have 2 children, Jamie and Jason. John and Jeanie lived in Provo Canyon prior to residing in American Fork for the past 20 years.
Jeanie showed tremendous strength and courage as she suffered with ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease). To say she endured to the end would describe her battle very well. Jeanie's smile and sense of humor could light up the room. If you knew her, you loved her! She adored her grandchildren and they loved her. Mason loved to hop on her lap and take a ride on grandma's electric wheelchair. Jeanie loved her kitties Squeek and Soot, and she referred to them as her babies. Her house was extremely organized and clean (she had every cool gadget known) and internet shopping will take a dive with her passing.
Jeanie is survived by loving husband John (American Fork); children Jamie (Orem), Jason (Robyn) (Cedar Hills) and grandchildren (Cameron, Halle, and Mason); mother LaRita Hancock (Bountiful); sister Judy Williams (Mark) (West Jordan), brothers Eldon (Vicki) Hancock (Casa Grande, AZ), Dave Hancock (Bluffdale), Gene Hancock (Bountiful), sister in law Bonnie Bale (Dennis) (Payson), and brother in law Jim Offret (Sandy) (Orem). Jeanie is preceded in death by infant son Christopher, father Keith Hancock, sister Linda Robbins, and brothers Steve and Vaughn Hancock; mother in law Verna Offret and father in law Henry Offret.
We wish to express our sincere gratitude to Hospice, and neighbors Rakell and Dave Farre and Nancy and Coy Ivie for their friendship and loving care.
A celebration of her life will be held with immediate family at a later date as per Jeanie's wishes.
