Thomas Lees Rawlings
1956 - 2022

Heber City, UT—Thomas Lees Rawlings, 65, retired from Amtrak in 2019, died on June 3rd 2022 in Heber City, Utah.

Born August 5th 1956 to Harville Lees and Gwendolyn Thomas Rawlings, Tom married Mary Lynn Banta on May 10th 1980 in the Salt Lake temple. Tom was a conductor for Amtrak. He also enjoyed working on the Heber Creeper and the Heber Valley railroad through the years, and spent time at the Salt Lake Garfield & Western railroad. Tom was a licensed electrician and spent time working for the IBEW.

Tom was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served a two-year mission for the church in the Los Angeles Spanish-speaking Mission and developed a respect and love for people from many Spanish-speaking countries.

Tom served as a teacher in the elders Quorum and served in various other callings for the church. He ran his own Searchlight Advertising company for many years and enjoyed keeping the World War II equipment running and dealing with his many customers. Tom loved music, working on his Daniel Utah 30 acres, and he enjoyed running his backhoe and working the Daniel property into a small paradise.

Tom is survived by his wife, Mary Rawlings, originally from San Jose California, and by his children Daniel Rawlings, Nik Anderson, and Jennifer Gaskill. Tom is also survived by 7 grandchildren, Keira Anderson, Katherine Rawlings, Abigail Anderson, Cooper Anderson, Corbin Anderson, Jasper Gaskill and Atticus Gaskill.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 9th 2022 with a viewing at 10:00am at the Heber City Stake Center at 150 North 200 West, Heber City, UT 84032.
