David Swenson

1956 - 2016

David Wayne Swenson, age 60, passed away March 11, 2016 peacefully at home. Born September 16, 1955 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Wayne and Margot Swenson.

He served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to San Diego, California from 1972 to 1974. Dave met his sweetheart, Tammy Fairbanks, while attending the University of Utah. It was a whirlwind courtship that culminated in engagement 2.5 weeks later and three months later they were sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple on August 26, 1980.

Dave chose his career in audiology to be able to help his mom hear. Dave and Tammy spent the last 9 years of his career working side by side 24 hours a day, the sweetest earthly end to the greatest love story ever told. Dave always had a love of music, he loved to sing and play guitar.

Dave loved the gospel of Jesus Christ and throughout his life taught his children to love the Lord and follow him. Dave’s wonderful sense of humor that could cheer up and brighten any day will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife of 36 yrs; children, Carleen (Keith), Robert (Andrea), Heather, Breanna (Taylor), August, and Haley (Taylor). As well as 6 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Linda.

Funeral Services for David will be held Wednesday, March 16th, at 11:00 am, at Lindon 17th Ward, 1051 East 200 South, Lindon, Utah, where a Viewing will be held prior from 10:00 to 10:45 am. Interment in Larkin Sunset Lawn Cemetery, 2350 East 1300 South, Salt Lake City, Utah.
